Kaziranga National Park | Wild Lancer


Kaziranga National Park, one of the most bio diverse park we have in planet & is an UNESCO world heritage site, situated on north east part of India the upper Assam bordering Arunachal Pradesh covering 430 Square Km of area. Kaziranga National Park is divided in four zones for visitors. They can travel in gypsyes or can book elephant safari to enjoy this beautiful flora and fauna of this park.

The landscape consist of exposed sand bars, lakes and some elevated regions known as chapories which provide shelter for animals during flood in almost every year. The Western reaches of the park are dominated by grasslands surrounding beels due to lower altitude. Tall elephant grasses are found on higher ground. You can witness magnificent glimpses of Indian one horned rhinoceros ,wild water buffaloes, Asian elephants ,royal Bengal tigers and swamp deer collectively known as big 5 of Kaziranga. It will feel your heart with joy and feel your memory cards of camera as well if you are a photographer.

This Park has large population of Indian one horned rhinoceros , wild water buffalo , Eastern swamp deer. The park having highest density of tigers in the world (1/5 km square). But the chance of tiger sighting is sometimes slim due to very tall elephant grass. You can witness Golden Tiger which is only found in this park in India as well as in the world if you are lucky enough. There is significant population of herbivores like gaur, soambar, chital, boar, hog deer etc. You can find some other mammals like leopards, Indian grey mongoose, Indian civet, Bengal Fox, sloth beer, Bengal fox, hog badger, flying squirrel, Golden Langur, Hoolock gibbon.

Kaziranga is also a large bird area for variety of local and migratory birds. The park experiences three seasons summer, monsoon and winter. Wild animals face most of the challenges during rainy season as in the peak months of July, August the park get submerged with the rising water level of Brahmaputra, the wild animals usually take shelter to the elevated region of the park. During that time wild and human conflicts happens as the elevated area is very near to human settlement. Forest Department is doing a phenomenal job for last few decades in anti-pooching activities, control burning to avoid forest fires, in controlling weeds.
